".. Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.." (Mathew 6:10)
IEC NZ “KINGDOM OF GOD“,
Guided by the Holy Scriptures (the Bible), in our teaching and practice, we affirm the following foundational beliefs about the supernatural workings of the Holy Spirit:
1. About God
-
We believe in one true God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19).
-
We believe that He is:
-
The Creator of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24; Hebrews 1:10)
-
Spirit (John 4:24)
-
Immortal (1 Timothy 6:16)
-
Holy (Leviticus 11:44; Isaiah 57:15; 1 Peter 1:15-16)
-
All-knowing (Deuteronomy 31:21; Isaiah 29:15; Hebrews 4:13)
-
Love (John 3:16; 1 John 4:16)
-
Almighty (Genesis 17:1)
-
-
We believe that God gave humanity the 10 Commandments, which must be obeyed (Exodus 20:2-17; Deuteronomy 5:6-21). From these Commandments, it follows that He is:
-
A God who brings out
-
A jealous God
-
A God with a holy name
-
The God of the Sabbath
-
The God of the earth
-
2. About Jesus Christ
-
We believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh (1 John 4:2-3).
-
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, who was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died and rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of His Father (Colossians 1:12-18).
-
We believe that He is:
-
God (1 John 5:20; Matthew 16:13-17; John 10:30,33; John 5:18; John 1:1; John 20:28; Philippians 2:6; Hebrews 1:8; John 20:25, 27-29)
-
Eternal (Colossians 1:15-17)
-
The only Savior (Acts 4:11-12)
-
The High Priest of the New Covenant (Hebrews 4:14-15; Hebrews 9:11)
-
Intercessor (Isaiah 2:1)
-
Victor (Colossians 2:15)
-
Baptizer with the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8, 2:4; 11:16-17)
-
The Lamb of God (John 1:36)
-
3. About the Holy Spirit
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Godhead (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:13), and in the necessity of receiving the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:2-3; Romans 8:14-16)
-
We believe that the Holy Spirit possesses all divine attributes (Acts 5:3-4).
-
We believe that He is:
-
The Spirit of Truth (John 16:13)
-
Holy (John 14:26; Ephesians 4:30)
-
All-knowing (1 Corinthians 2:10)
-
Sanctifying (1 Corinthians 6:11)
-
Miracle-working (Acts 19:6)
-
Regenerating (John 3:3-6)
-
Confirming adoption (Galatians 4:6-7)
-
Comforter (John 14:26)
-
Bestowing gifts and empowering for ministry (Acts 4:31; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
-
Eternal (Acts 19:2-6; Acts 8:15-17)
-
4. About the Word of God (the Bible)
-
We believe that: The Holy Scriptures - the books of the Old and New Testaments (the Bible) - are God-breathed, given by the Lord, and are the sole source for knowing God and for our salvation (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
-
We believe that: A believer must:
-
Study the Scriptures (John 5:39)
-
Believe in the Scriptures and obey them (John 14:23)
-
Not distort the Word of God (Joshua 1:8; 2 Corinthians 4:2, 2:17)
-
Not add to or take away from the Word of God (Proverbs 30:5-6)
-
5. About Man
We believe that: * God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27) * Man has free will (Deuteronomy 15:19) * Man is tripartite: he has spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23) * The first man violated God's command and fell into sin, as a result of which all mankind inherited sin and death (Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Genesis 3:1-24, 5:5) * Man cannot save himself. Neither by his own righteousness, nor by any of his works, nor through other people (Psalm 48:8; Matthew 16:26; Mark 10:26-27; Romans 3:21-25; Ephesians 2:8-9) * Man receives forgiveness of all sins, eternal life with God as a gift, through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:15-18) * The Holy Spirit and the Word of God regenerate a person to a new life (James 1:18; Titus 3:5)
6. About Sin
We believe that: * The originator of sin is the devil, a fallen angel, who through pride and disobedience became an enemy of God and His Church, is the father of lies and all unrighteousness. * He is defeated by Christ and his destiny is the lake of fire (Ezekiel 28:12-27; Revelation 20:10). * Sin is lawlessness (1 John 3:4).

7. About the Church of Christ
We believe that:
-
Christ established the Church through His death and resurrection.
-
The Church is the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).
-
The Church of Christ is founded on the teaching of the apostles and prophets and has Jesus Christ as its cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20-22).
-
The purpose of the Church is: to glorify God, evangelize the world, preserve and transmit the truth, perfect the saints for the work of ministry through the Word of God, and perform acts of mercy and charity.
8. The Local Church
-
We believe that:
-
The local church consists of born-again souls who have received water baptism.
-
Those coming from other churches must have written or verbal testimony.
-
-
The duties of a person who is part of the church are:
-
Obedience to church leaders (1 Peter 5:5; Hebrews 13:17)
-
Worthy participation in the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-30)
-
Maintaining peace and unity in the church (Hebrews 12:14)
-
Taking an active part in the ministry and life of the Church (Hebrews 10:25)
-
Taking an active part in the material ministry to the Lord with a tenth of all their income (Leviticus 27:30)
-
Participating in voluntary donations and acts of mercy (Genesis 14:20; Malachi 3:8-10; Matthew 23:23; Hebrews 7:4-6).
-
9. The Home Church
We believe that:
-
The blessing and prosperity of the local church largely depends on the holy structure of the home church, which consists of family members.
-
The duties of the home church include the holy and exemplary life of parents before God, children, and those around them.
-
Parents are obligated to raise their children in the word of truth, to pray together, to sing spiritual songs, to read the Holy Scriptures; to attend church services with their children (Joshua 24:15; Luke 2:41; Romans 16:3-4; 1 Corinthians 7:14; Ephesians 6:1-4).
10. Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe that: a) Baptism in the Holy Spirit is performed by Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16; 16:7) b) It occurs: * During preaching * During prayer * With the laying on of hands * In other circumstances c) The sign of other tongues is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit and cannot be learned by people (Acts 2:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:7, 10) d) It is a source of power for ministry through the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:7-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
11. About the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the Resurrection of the Dead, and the Rapture of the Church
We believe:
-
In the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, the day and hour of which no one knows (Matthew 25:31)
-
That the second coming will be preceded by the resurrection of the dead in Christ, as well as the instantaneous transformation of those who remain alive (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
-
That the raptured Church will meet Jesus Christ in power and glory in the clouds (Luke 21:27)
-
That all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive according to what he has done while living in the body, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10)
-
We acknowledge the second resurrection of all the dead and the righteous judgment of God before the white throne (Revelation 20:11-17) - “Blessed is he who has part in the first resurrection; over such the second death has no power” (Revelation 20:6).
-
A believer in Jesus Christ has eternal life and does not come into judgment (John 5:24).
12. The Kingdom of God, Heaven, and the New Earth
We believe that:
-
According to the promise, there will be a new heaven and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13; Isaiah 65:17)
-
The Church and the saved people will live eternally with Christ in the new heaven and the new earth (Revelation 5:10).
-
Only those who have been baptized with the Spirit and water will enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:5), or those who have repented and believed in Jesus and the Kingdom of God before death and did not have time to be baptized with water (Luke 23:32-43).
